Julie Dretzin was born on May 24, 1968, in New York. She was raised by her Parents, in a theatrical environment as the daughter of actress and casting director Joanna Merlin and David Dretzin.
Her mother was a respected Broadway performer who also worked as a casting director for producer Hal Prince for many years.
