Koushani Mukherjee was born on May 17, 1992, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, to Rana Mukherjee and Sangita Mukherjee.
Her father, Rana Mukherjee, worked as an Income Tax Officer, while her mother, Sangita Mukherjee, was a major source of support in her life.
Koushani grew up in Kolkata and developed an interest in performance and entertainment from an early age. She belongs to a Bengali background and follows Hinduism.
She attended Assembly of God Church School, Park Street, Kolkata, before studying at Heramba Chandra College under the University of Calcutta. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree in 2013.
Career
Koushani Mukherjee began her professional career as a model and won the Miss Beauty of Kolkata title in 2015. Her success in modelling helped open the door to Bengali cinema.
That same year, she made her acting debut in Raj Chakraborty’s romantic comedy Parbona Ami Chartey Tokey, playing Aparna Roy opposite Bonny Sengupta.
Following her debut, Koushani appeared in several Bengali films, including Kelor Kirti, Tomake Chai, Jio Pagla, Hoichoi Unlimited, Girlfriend, Jamai Badal, and Baccha Shoshur.
