Laura Drasbæk was born on December 22, 1974, in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark. She is the daughter of Erik Fæster Olesen and Kirsten Drasbæk Petersen.
She developed an interest in performance early in life and made her film debut as a child in Dance of the Polar Bears in 1990.
She later continued developing her acting skills professionally and graduated from the Acting School at Aarhus Theatre in 2001. Her training prepared her for a career spanning Danish cinema, television, and theatre.

Drasbæk began acting professionally as a child, appearing in Dance of the Polar Bears before taking roles in The Boys from St. Petri, Final Hour, and Pusher. Her performance as Vic in Pusher became one of her early prominent screen appearances.
She later featured in Flickering Lights, Okay, The Good Cop, Familien Gregersen, Murk, Daisy Diamond, and Simon & Malou.
On television, she appeared in Unit One, Anna Pihl, The Killing, and Lærkevej, later reprising Katrine Holm in Lærkevej – Til døden os skiller. From 2020 onward, she has portrayed Marianne Sommerdahl in The Sommerdahl Murders.
