Early Life and education

Mel Lisboa is now 43 years old and was born on 17 January 1982 in Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Her mother is the astrologer Cláudia Lisboa Alves and her father is the musician Bebeto Alves. She has an older sister named Luna. From a young age, Mel was exposed to artistic environments due to her father’s musical involvement and her mother’s public work.

She enrolled in cinema studies at the Fluminense Federal University (Universidade Federal Fluminense) in Niterói, but she did not complete the degree; she left the program to devote herself fully to acting when her career began to take off.

Between 2004 and 2008, Mel Lisboa was married to actor Daniel Alvim, a union that later ended in divorce. Later in 2008, on November 8, she married musician Felipe Rosseno. Mel Lisboa’s first major role came in 2001 in the miniseries Presença de Anita, where she embodied the character Anita (also known as Cíntia), whose complex personality immediately drew public attention. The success of that miniseries gave her national visibility.

In 2002, she appeared in the telenovela Desejos de Mulher, playing Gabriela Diniz, a rural girl striving to become a model. That role, however, did not match the public impact of her first role, partly because audiences still associated her strongly with Anita.
