Early Life and education

Mel Lisboa is now 43 years old and was born on 17 January 1982 in Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Her mother is the astrologer Cláudia Lisboa Alves and her father is the musician Bebeto Alves. She has an older sister named Luna. From a young age, Mel was exposed to artistic environments due to her father’s musical involvement and her mother’s public work.

She enrolled in cinema studies at the Fluminense Federal University (Universidade Federal Fluminense) in Niterói, but she did not complete the degree; she left the program to devote herself fully to acting when her career began to take off.

Personal Life

Between 2004 and 2008, Mel Lisboa was married to actor Daniel Alvim, a union that later ended in divorce. Later in 2008, on November 8, she married musician Felipe Rosseno. That marriage produced two children: Bernardo (born 2008) and Clarice (date of birth not always clearly reported). In June 2023, she formalized the end of that marriage after 15 years together.

In personal statements, Mel has declared herself an atheist, a stance she made public in a 2009 interview. In 2025, she began a romantic relationship with actor Gustavo Rezende, with whom she worked in the musical Rita Lee – Uma Autobiografia Musical.

Career

Mel Lisboa’s first major role came in 2001 in the miniseries Presença de Anita, where she embodied the character Anita (also known as Cíntia), whose complex personality immediately drew public attention. The success of that miniseries gave her national visibility.

In 2002, she appeared in the telenovela Desejos de Mulher, playing Gabriela Diniz, a rural girl striving to become a model. That role, however, did not match the public impact of her first role, partly because audiences still associated her strongly with Anita.

Over the next years, she continued alternating between television, cinema, and theater. In 2004, she acted in the TV novela Como uma Onda in the role of Lenita Paiva. She also began her film career with A Cartomante (2004) and roles in O Casamento de Romeu e Julieta (2005) and Sonhos e Desejos (2006), among others.

In 2006 she published Mundo Afora – Diário de Bordo de Mel Lisboa, a book combining stories and photographs from her travels and media experiences, and that same year she hosted for GNT / Rede Globo Sat.

She also took on roles in prime time telenovelas such as Sete Pecados (2007). From 2011 onward, she joined RecordTV, playing Dalila in Sansão e Dalila. Subsequently she acted in Pecado Mortal (2013) and Os Dez Mandamentos (2015) as a younger Henutmire.

Her theater work is substantial: she has participated in plays such as Confissões de Adolescente (2002), Há Vaga Para Moças de Fino Trato, Brutal, Luluzinhas, Mordendo os Lábios, A Mulher do Candidato, Cyrano, Após a Chuva, Mulheres Alteradas, Rita Lee Mora ao Lado – O Musical (where she portrayed Rita Lee), Cenas de uma Execução, Otelo, Luz Negra, Peer Gynt, Roque Santeiro – O Musical, Pescadora de Ilusão, Misery, Madame Blavatsky – Amores Ocultos, and Rita Lee – Uma Autobiografia Musical.

In recent years, she returned to television roles with Cara e Coragem (2022) as the antagonist Regina and appeared in Luz (2024). She also performed voice work, such as lending her voice to Ritinha in Astronauta. In cinema she appeared in Foram os Sussurros que Me Mataram (2024), Maníaco do Parque (2024), O Amante de Júlia (2022), among others.
