Nancy Kovack is a retired American actress born on March 11, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, in the United States. She is the daughter of Michael A. Kovack, a Flint, Michigan resident. Her father oversaw a facility for General Motors. 

Nancy Kovack, a Flint, Michigan native, attended the University of Michigan at age 15, became a radio DJ at age 16, graduated from college at 19, and held eight beauty pageants before age 20.

Career

After working as a model, Nancy Kovack was cast as one of Jackie Gleason‘s Glee Girls. Sheila Sommers, Samantha Stephens‘ adversary and Darrin Stephens‘ ex-girlfriend, and Italian client Clio Vanita are among the characters she has appeared in on several television shows, including Bewitched (3 episodes), Batman (episodes 5 and 6), I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart, Perry Mason, 12 O’Clock High, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Invaders (episode “She made a significant appearance as a Native American medicine lady and femme fatale in “A Private Little War,” one of the first Star Trek episodes (1968).

For a role on Mannix, she was nominated in 1969 for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Single Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. She hosted the game show Beat the Clock and made cameos on other shows.

Nancy Kovack gained jobs in Hollywood films as her reputation grew, most notably as the high priestess Medea in Jason and the Argonauts (1963). Along with Kirk Douglas and Kim Novak, she appeared in Strangers When We Meet (1960), Diary of a Madman (1963), The Outlaws Is Coming (1965), Sylvia (1965), The Great Sioux Massacre (1965), The Silencers (1966), Tarzan and the Valley of Gold (1966), Mike Henry‘s Tarzan and the Valley of Gold, Frankie, and Johnny (1966), Elvis Presley‘s Frankie and Johnny (1966), and Carl Reiner (1967).

Nancy Kovack made her Broadway debut in The Disenchanted. She portrayed the murder victim in the TV movie/series pilot Ellery Queen and is credited as Nancy Mehta (also known as Too Many Suspects, 1975). Marooned, a science fiction drama starring Gregory Peck and Gene Hackman, was her final acting project.

In addition to acting in American productions, Nancy Kovack acted in three Iranian movies.
