Early life and education

Paulina Dávila was born on December 18, 1988, in Medellín, Colombia, and was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Dávila, in Santa Marta, where she lived until completing high school.

She later moved to Bogotá to study Visual Arts at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her artistic education initially centred on visual arts rather than acting.

She became involved in performance, photography, video and drawing, using those disciplines to explore the body and identity.

Her early Mexican television work included Tres Caínes, Alguien más, Las trampas del deseo and Amor sin reserva.

Her major breakthrough arrived with Carlos Moreno‘s ¡Que viva la música! (2015), in which she played María del Carmen, the central character based on Andrés Caicedo‘s acclaimed Colombian novel.

In 2018, Dávila took on one of her most recognizable television roles as Mariana Yazbek in Luis Miguel: La Serie.

Her performance portrayed the photographer and first major romantic interest of singer Luis Miguel in the Netflix biographical drama.

She also played Elisa Rocha in the political drama Aquí en la Tierra, appearing across multiple seasons.

Her subsequent credits included Perdida (2019), R (2020), Ana (2020–2022) and Después de ti (2021). She returned to Netflix in 2022 as Antonia in the Colombian dance drama Ritmo Salvaje.
