Soo attended Libertyville High School from 2004 to 2008, where she participated in theater productions, and then earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Juilliard School’s Drama Division, graduating in 2012.

Phillipa Soo became engaged to actor Steven Pasquale in February 2016 and the couple married on September 24, 2017.

After graduating from Juilliard in 2012, Phillipa Soo originated the role of Natasha Rostova in the Off-Broadway production of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 before landing her defining role as Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton in 2015.
