Early life and education
Prachee Shah Paandya was born on December 12, 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She grew up in a Gujarati Jain family whose roots have remained in Maharashtra for several generations.
Her father was an engineer and her mother worked as a banker, and both parents encouraged Prachee and her younger brother to pursue education and develop their individual abilities.
She began learning Kathak at the age of three under Guru Ganesh Hiralal of the Jaipur gharana and later became an accomplished classical dancer.
