Sandra Miju Oh (born July 20, 1971), commonly known as Sandra Oh, a Canadian-American actress, has gained recognition for her notable performances in various television series. 

She portrayed the character of Rita Wu in the HBO comedy show Arliss from 1996 to 2002. Additionally, she is well-known for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang in the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, which aired from 2005 to 2014. 

Furthermore, Sandra Oh played Eve Polastri in the BBC America spy thriller Killing Eve from 2018 to 2022.

Sandra Oh, a renowned actress, was born on July 20, 1971, in Nepean, Ontario, Canada. Her parents were immigrants from South Korea named Young-Nam Oh and Joon-Soo Oh. 

Throughout her childhood, she was raised alongside her two siblings, Grace Oh and Ray Oh. Sandra Oh pursued her passion for acting by attending the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal, Quebec. After years of dedication and hard work, she successfully graduated from the institution in 1993. 

Sandra Oh also honed her musical talents by studying piano at the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario.

Career

Sandra Oh moved to the United States in 1996 to pursue her acting career. She successfully secured a recurring role in the HBO comedy series Arliss, which she portrayed from 1996 to 2002. Three years later, she was selected to portray Dr. Cristina Yang in Grey’s Anatomy, a role she played for ten seasons. She gained immense popularity and critical acclaim for her performance.
