Sara Rue‘s birth name is Sara Schlackman. Marc Schlackman and Joan Schlackman are her parents.

She was born on 26th January 1979 in New York City, United States. Her mother was a former actress, and her father was a stage manager, both of whom worked on Broadway.

At just the age of nine, Sara Rue made her acting debut by featuring in the 1988 drama movie, Rocket Gibraltar.
