Tamara Duarte was born on December 12, 1991, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of Maria Duarte and David Duarte and is of Portuguese-Brazilian heritage. She grew up alongside three sisters in a close-knit family and spent much of her childhood participating in Portuguese folklore theatre productions at community clubs in Toronto.
