Traci Bingham was born on January 13, 1968 in North Cambridge, Massachusetts, to parents Lafayette Bingham, an aircraft technician who served in World War II, and Betty Bingham, a librarian.
She is the youngest of seven children, with siblings Jenny, Neil, Larry, Elizabeth, Wayne and Tommy Bingham.
She attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, graduating in 1986, and later studied psychology at the Harvard Extension School. Of American origin with African-American, Italian and Native American heritage, her religion is Christianity.
