She attended Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Chennai before earning a degree in Visual Communication from M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women.

Career
Vidyu Raman began her film journey through an audition for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), a role that earned her a nomination despite the film’s mixed reception.
The offers that followed, including Sundar C’s hit comedy Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, along with Jilla and Veeram, established her as a reliable supporting actress and comedienne in star-studded Tamil projects.
She won the Nandi Award for Best Female Comedian for Run Raja Run (2014) and continued to appear in notable films such as Kaaki Sattai, Vedalam, Power Pandi, Sarrainodu, and Raju Gari Gadhi.
Her career has been defined by a conscious effort to challenge the stereotypical limitations placed on female comedians in South Indian cinema.
In The Verdict (2025), a bilingual courtroom drama, she played a dramatic role as one of twelve jury members in a Texas murder trial, a performance she has described as career-defining and a departure from her comedic persona.
She has also appeared in the reality show Cooku with Comali and delivered a TEDx talk at GLIM Chennai in 2023 titled “Overcoming Fear and Self-Doubt to Pursue Your Passion.” Her ability to balance comedy with dramatic depth has cemented her reputation as a versatile performer.
