On the 9th of September 1975, Winnie Ntshaba was born in KwaZulu-Natal.

She grew up alongside her elder sister, who encouraged her to pursue her education. As a result, she began her journey into the entertainment industry in 2000.

Winnie Ntshaba eventually had a breakthrough with her first debut titled ‘Yesterday.’ After that, she became famed for her outstanding performance in the SABC 1’s Generations series.

Early Life

Winnie Ntshaba, who grew up in Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal, talks about the absence of glitter and grandeur in her youth age.

In truth, the 48-year-old actress and businesswoman claimed that growing up was a nightmare, but she didn’t realize her emotional rigor because everyone living around her was also poor.

According to Winnie Ntshaba, she has done and witnessed a lot of strange things while growing up.

She gave an instance of using cooking oil as her body lotion because she couldn’t afford to buy a body lotion.

She also revealed that her mother did everything to ensure that her children did not go to bed with an empty stomach, even if they had to just feed on pap and Orange.

But that is no longer the case for Winnie Ntshaba because she can now afford to live a decent life and travel worldwide.

Education

Winnie Ntshaba took her education very seriously; she also vowed never to go into any form of relationship with the opposite gender until she graduated. She attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she studied theatrical arts. 

However, the vow Winnie Ntshaba made did not stand the test of time because she eventually fell in love with her estranged husband while still in the university.

Career

In the year 2000, Winnie Ntshaba relocated to Johannesburg and partake in educational and industrial theater shows for AREPP Shoestring Productions. She then proceeded to make her second debut in a television drama titled ‘Jozi Streets.’

Winnie Ntshaba was made a supporting actress in the south African movie titled ‘Yesterday,’ where she assisted another actress called Leleti Khumalo. This was the movie that shot her into stardom because she played the role she was given so well and effortlessly. 

She got a lot of positive applause from fans because of her outstanding performance. Not long after, Ntshaba instantly got her first role as a lead character in a film titled ‘Shreds and Dreams.’ She also made a debut in a Russian film titled Lethal Force, where she took the role of a supporting actress.

One of Winnie Ntshaba‘s missions and vision is to revolutionize the South African entertainment industry. In the year 2013, she launched a program called the Royalty Soapie Awards. The first ceremony took place at the Durban International Convention Centre on 2 November 2013.

In 2005, Winnie Ntshaba was also given a role on the SABC 1 soap opera, Generations (South African TV series), and she has been a person of valor and value to the program.

However, in 2015, she got relieved of her duties alongside other thespians after she and her colleague embarked on a strike because they wanted an increment in their salary.



After a long break from the entertainment world, Winnie Ntshaba made a huge comeback into the industry in 2018 and made a debut in the Mzansi magic hit drama, titled ‘The Herd,’ where she took the role of a lead actress called Mam’Ngadi.

Personal Life

Winnie Ntshaba started dating a cinematographer that works with the SABC group called Thabo Modise in 2005 while she was still at the university. The two love birds got married in 2006. 

The couple had a son together, which they named ‘Phenyo Modise.’ unfortunately, their love life could not stand the test of time. After 7 years of being married, Winnie Ntshaba filed for a divorce in 2013, and the two once lovebirds became an estranged couple after the marriage was eventually dissolved.

Regardless of their misunderstanding, the estranged couple occasionally comes together to show their son love and support.

According to Winnie Ntshaba, she said her next marriage will be, for better for worse, stating that the next time she decides to remarry, the union will last forever. She also stated, she divorced her ex-husband was out of ignorance and negligence.
