Early life and education
Zita Hanrot was born on December 7, 1989, in Marseille, France. She is the daughter of French graphic designer and artistic director Vincent Hanrot and British illustrator and graphic designer Sharon Tulloch, who is of Jamaican and Guyanese heritage.
Her parents separated when she was young. She has an older brother, Idrissa Hanrot, who is also an actor.
Hanrot grew up in Marseille and developed an interest in the arts from an early age. She became particularly inspired by Ariane Mnouchkine‘s theatrical production Les Éphémères, which helped convince her to pursue acting.
She initially studied art history partly to reassure her parents but soon realized that theatre was her true vocation.
