Craig McCracken was born on March 31, 1971, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to Norman McCracken and Eva Lynn McCracken.
He attended California High School in Whittier before enrolling at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in 1990, where he studied animation.
Career
Craig McCracken began developing his animation career during his studies at CalArts, where he created No Neck Joe and the student short Whoopass Stew!, the project that eventually developed into The Powerpuff Girls.
He entered the professional animation industry in the early 1990s and worked on projects including 2 Stupid Dogs and Dexter’s Laboratory.
His major breakthrough arrived when The Powerpuff Girls became a Cartoon Network series in 1998.
He later created Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, which ran from 2004 to 2009. After leaving Cartoon Network, he created Wander Over Yonder for Disney and Kid Cosmic for Netflix.
His current work includes Foster’s Funtime for Imaginary Friends, where he serves as creator, writer, director, and producer.
