In late 2017, Hongjoong, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho competed on the reality survival program Mix Nine, none advancing far enough to debut through the show. Ahead of their official launch, the pre-debut lineup travelled to Los Angeles to train at Movement Lifestyle and Millennium Dance Complex, documented in the YouTube series KQ Fellaz American Training.

Career

ATEEZ launched their career with the Treasure album series (2018-2020), an arc introducing their pirate-adventure concept, before moving into the darker, dystopian-themed Zero: Fever series (2020-2021).

Their momentum built steadily through this period, with Zero: Fever Part.1 becoming the group’s first album certified platinum in South Korea. In 2021, they competed on the survival music show Kingdom: Legendary War, raising their domestic profile considerably.

The group then began The World series in 2022, culminating in the 2023 studio album The World EP.Fin: Will, which topped the Gaon Album Chart and became ATEEZ’s first release certified “Million” in South Korea. Their fourth era, the Golden Hour series, began in 2024 with Golden Hour: Part.1 and Golden Hour: Part.2, the latter reaching number one on the Billboard 200, a first for the group.
