Celestine Donkor (born May 19) is a renowned Ghanaian gospel artist songwriter, preacher and worshipper.

She was born to the family of Mr Gabriel Akpakpo and Mrs Hannah Akpakpo, they Hail from Volta Region of Ghana.

She singing at a very young age in churches and at church Crusades. Thereafter, she got recognition by Mr Kwei Mensah who brought her into the music industry as a backing vocalist at the age of 16.

She has collaborated with many gospel artist which gained are popularity and therefore led to her nomination in many award shows some of which she won.

Early Life

Celestine Donkor is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Kpakpo. She is a Ghanaian artist and songwriter. She studied at Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Abeka Lapas and Nsaaniya Secondary School in Kasoa.

Due to serious financial crisis her family was facing, she only furthered her education with the help of Abuma Nelson, a boxing legend and the International Solid Foundation Ministry, in the University of Ghana where she got an Honor BA degree in Sociology and Information.

When she was only 16 and still in secondary school, she met Mr Fred Kwei Mensah also known as Fredyma. He introduced her into the music industry as a backing vocalist.

She has collaborated with many gospel artists and has gained recognition all around, she has there by won so many awards.

Education

Celestine Donkor got her first education at St Augustine Preparatory School in Abeka Lapaz.

She then attended Nsaaniya Secondary School in Kasoa. She proceeded to the University of Ghana where she graduated with a BA Hons. Degree in Sociology and Information Studies

Celestine Donkor is a Ghanaian gospel artist, preacher, songwriter and conference speaker. She is also known as the Gospel Soldier.

She started off her music career in the church and in church Crusades where she used to sing, she was then brought into the music industry by Mr Fred Kwei Mensah as a backing vocalist.

She sings well in Ewe dialect ,as according to her; that is her mother language. In an interview, she disclosed that she intended to learn other languages so she could sing in different dialects.

She collaborated with a lot of gospel artist and has so many hit songs. Her latest album won her Artist of the year at the National Gospel Music Awards, some of the other Awards she has won are; gospel artist of the year in Vodafone Ghana Music Award in 2020, female vocalist of the year, gospel song of the year and album of the year in National Gospel Awards.

She also won best traditional music twice in 2012 and 2014. She won best gospel video award in MTN Gospel Video Awards.
