Early Life and Education

Gosh, Dilay is now 40. He met bandmate Yael Yuzon between 1998 and 2002 during their years in the Ateneo de Manila University High School, where both were active in the Teatro Baguntao theatre guild.

They decided to form a band together, eventually naming it Sponge Cola after a Detroit group named Sponge, shortened with “Cola” for uniqueness.

During high school, the band began winning competitions within their campus scene. Gosh completed high school at Ateneo de Manila University before Sponge Cola transitioned into mainstream music.
