Early Life and Education

Luciano Ligabue was born on March 13, 1960, in Correggio, Reggio Emilia, Italy. He was raised by his father, Giovanni Ligabue, and his mother, Rina Bondavalli. He is of Italian ethnicity and practices Christianity. He grew up with one sibling Marco Ligabue.

Before beginning his music career, Ligabue worked in several occupations, including as a farm worker, factory worker, accountant, radio host, salesman, local government official. These experiences later became a major source of inspiration for his songwriting.

Luciano Ligabue launched his music career in 1987 by forming the amateur rock band Orazero.
