Shania Twain, a celebrated musical artist, was born on August 28, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She is the youngest of Sharon Morrison and Clarence Edwards‘ three daughters. At age two, her parents divorced, and her mother remarried Jerry Twain, an Ojibwa man. 

The family then relocated to Timmins, Ontario. Shania Twain has four siblings: Carrie Ann Edwards, Darryl TwainJill Edwards, and Mark Twain. During her time in Timmins, Shania Twain attended Timmins High and Vocational School.

Career

Shania Twain embarked on her musical journey at a young age by showcasing her talent in church and at local talent shows. It was in 1993 that she took a significant step forward and signed with Mercury Nashville Records, resulting in the release of her debut album bearing her name. Although the album did not succeed commercially, one of its tracks, What Made You Say That, climbed to number 10 on the esteemed Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Shania Twain‘s second album, The Woman in Me, was released to critical and commercial acclaim in 1995. The album went on to sell over twenty million copies worldwide and produced seven number-one singles, including Any Man of MineYou’re Still the One, and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? The Woman in Me received four Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year.

In 1997, Shania Twain released her third album, Come on Over. This album surpassed the success of The Woman in Me, selling more than 40 million copies globally and becoming the top-selling country album ever. It featured a remarkable 12 number-one singles, such as That Don’t Impress Me MuchMan! I Feel Like a Woman, and From This Moment On.
