Early Life & Education

Thomas Sanders grew up in Gainesville, Florida, and still calls it home. He was born on the 24th of April in 1989. 

His maternal great-grandfather was born in Ireland. He credited his “ancestral connection with theatre” to his great-grandmother, who was a Ziegfeld Follies girl. 

His father was a schoolteacher. Thomas Sanders has three brothers: Patrick Sanders, Christian Sanders, and Shea Sanders. In middle school, he began singing in front of an audience and taking his first acting steps at Gainesville’s Kanapaha Middle School, where he sang in several choruses and appeared in multiple school plays. 

When he took his first role in musical performances in high school, he tried to incorporate acting and singing. Thomas Sanders later blended his university studies with community theater, working at the Gainesville Community Playhouse from 2006 to 2015. In 2011, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from University of Florida.
