Early life and education
Timmy McKeever was born on November 16, 2006, in Huntington Beach, California, and grew up in the Southern California community widely known as “Surf City.” He was raised by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. McKeever, in a family environment where music eventually became a major part of his life.
His family moved from Tennessee to California when he was young, and the move gave him the chance to develop his musical interests in Southern California. His ethnicity is White American. Timmy grew up with two older sisters, both of whom competed at a championship level in volleyball. Their athletic background also contributed to his own interest in sports during childhood. His religion is Christianity.
His interest in music began around age nine, after his third-grade teacher played worship songs after class. That experience inspired him to pick up a beginner guitar available at home, beginning a musical journey that eventually led to songwriting and professional performance.
Timmy also had a strong connection to ice hockey while growing up. He competed at a high level before eventually choosing music as his primary pursuit. By age 11, he was already performing at smaller venues, balancing music with school, sports, family, and friendships.
He attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, graduating in the Class of 2025. As his music career accelerated, he eventually switched to online schooling after moving to Nashville, allowing him to focus more on recording, songwriting, and live performances.
Career
Timmy McKeever began his public music career in 2018, at approximately 12 years old.
He started performing around Southern California while continuing his education, appearing at venues such as The Maverick, House of Blues Anaheim, The Ranch Saloon and Old Crow Smokehouse in Huntington Beach. He also performed at private events, weddings, festivals, restaurants and other live venues.
His songwriting developed alongside his stage career. Timmy has cited Eric Church, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Luke Combs, and Riley Green as musical influences.
At the same time, his father’s appreciation for rock music also shaped the heavier edge of his sound. He describes his style as a mixture of country, pop, rock and Latin influences, creating a modern approach to country music.
In 2021, he released his debut single “She’s My Answer.” His independent releases gradually expanded his audience, leading to playlist placements on platforms such as Spotify. By 2023, he had accumulated more than 1.2 million Spotify streams and released more than 11 singles.
His regular livestream performances during the COVID-19 period also helped him build an international online audience.
A major turning point came when he began working with Nashville producer Jim Catino and Droptine Recordings. After developing his material in California, Timmy moved to Nashville in June 2024 and began pursuing music full-time. The move brought him closer to Nashville’s songwriting and country-music industry.
Under Big Loud, Timmy entered a new phase of his career, releasing songs including “Hold You To It,” “Wrong With Me,” “Back To Back,” “I Wish I Could,” and “20 Over.” His official website reports more than 30 million streams and more than 400 live performances.
