She grew up in Elm Springs, Arkansas, as the eldest of four children to Oren Paris II, founder of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) ministries and Ecclesia College, and Rachel Inez Paris, a songwriter.

From a young age she sang in church, composed simple songs by age two, and studied piano from age six.

She attended a Christian discipleship school for a year and served two years with YWAM before launching her recording career.
