Adekunle Oluwashina Abdulateef famously known as Zamorra is a 25 years old fast-rising Nigerian Afro-pop artist who was signed under Fox Records during the 2015-2016 period.

Zamorra hit the limelight exploiting a Twitter trend “Importanter” by making a song off it. Zamorra, the only child of his parent was born in Ketu, Lagos but relocated to Ondo State, his hometown where he was brought up.

He returned to Lagos after completing his secondary school education in Ondo. Zamorra also graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife, where achieved his degree in Philosophy.

Musical Career

Zamorra grew up in a family that had a huge church and music background which had massive impacts on his today’s passion. He ventured into music in 2015 when he started writing music professionally back in Secondary school.

Since his family was lovers of music, Zamorra grew up listening to a lot of music which kind of shaped his sound and kinds of music.

In 2018, there was a trend on Twitter “Importanter” which saw most internet lovers creating numerous comparisons between two close subjects stating which is more important, anyone found to be more important was named the “Importanter” just like saying “Sex is important but the orgasm is importanter”, in this scenario, it’s been agreed that sex is important but reaching an organism is the most important thing (Importanter).

Zamorra who happened to be very creative with Afro-soul sound converted the Twitter street new invention to the song “Importanter” which went viral almost immediately and also helped in trending the subject even more. As much as Zamorra and Importanter are concerned, they both helped each other to trend as he wasn’t the originator of the slang.

While the trend helped the song to trend as well, Zamorra made a remix with Small Doctor the street ambassador, and a video was followed up. This saw the single “Importanter” trending nationwide and receiving massive airplay’s last.
