Early Life and Education

Napheesa Collier was born on September 23, 1996, in O’Fallon, Missouri, United States. She is of biracial African American and White heritage and is the daughter of Sarah Collier and Gamal Collier.

She grew up alongside her sister, Kai Collier, and developed a passion for basketball from an early age with strong support from her family.

Napheesa Collier attended Incarnate Word Academy in Bel-Nor, Missouri, where she became one of the nation’s top high school players.

She later enrolled at the University of Connecticut (UConn), leading the Huskies to the 2016 NCAA National Championship while earning multiple All-American honors. She practices Christianity.
