A 21-year-old social media personality known online as DreamDoll Bri, whose legal name was Brianna J., was killed early Sunday morning when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle she was riding in as she left a party at a rented home in this Broward County suburb, according to authorities and multiple accounts that have circulated in the hours since.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Sunshine Boulevard, according to the Miramar Police Department. Brianna J., who had built a following of hundreds of thousands across TikTok and Instagram, had just left an Airbnb gathering and was travelling with two men in a green Lamborghini sport utility vehicle when a white BMW pulled alongside and fired multiple rounds into the car.

The Lamborghini continued moving after the shooting began, running through a stop sign before crashing into a nearby house, officials said. Police and Miramar Fire Rescue personnel responded after receiving an automated ShotSpotter alert and transported all three occupants of the vehicle to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. DreamDoll was pronounced dead; the two men who were with her were reported to be in critical condition.

Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss told reporters that investigators believe the vehicle had been followed and deliberately targeted before the attack. “We believe they may have been followed to the area,” the chief said, describing the scene as chaotic and disturbing.

He added that officials do not believe the surrounding neighbourhood is in danger, characterizing the shooting as an isolated, targeted act rather than a random one. As of Monday, no arrests had been announced, and the police department had not released a motive or the names of the two men who were wounded.

Doorbell camera footage that appeared to capture the moments of the shooting spread widely on social media in the hours following the attack, though it has not been independently authenticated by law enforcement.

Brianna J. had cultivated an online persona centred on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content, drawing more than 365,000 followers on TikTok and roughly 80,000 on Instagram under names including DreamDoll Bri and ItGirlBri. She was also known for a viral song, Bend Ova. According to social media posts from a family member, she was the mother of a young child.

Tributes poured in from within the entertainment industry. JT, a rapper and former member of the group City Girls, wrote on social media that her heart ached for “Bri,” calling her “so full of life.”

In the absence of an arrest, conflicting narratives have spread rapidly online, illustrating how quickly speculation can outpace official confirmation in the aftermath of a high-profile death. A hairstylist who friends and family said had been riding in the vehicle earlier that night reportedly got out of the car before the shooting occurred, after what she described as an argument with Brianna J. The stylist posted, and later deleted, a statement on social media denying any involvement in the shooting and saying she had not known the group was being followed.

That account has been publicly challenged by a woman identifying herself as Brianna J.‘s cousin, who used Instagram to accuse the stylist of leaking Brianna J.‘s location to whoever carried out the shooting. In a series of Instagram Stories, the cousin wrote that the stylist’s account of events did not add up and vowed to continue pressing for answers.

The stylist has not responded publicly to those accusations beyond announcing she was cancelling professional appointments and posting tributes to Brianna J. These claims remain unverified by police, who have not named any suspects or persons of interest.

Miramar detectives said the investigation remained active and ongoing, with officers reviewing traffic and residential surveillance footage in an effort to identify the shooters and establish a motive.

Broward County, like much of South Florida, has historically seen an increase in violent incidents during major holiday weekends, when nightlife activity and crowds swell, a pattern investigators are weighing as they piece together the circumstances of the shooting, though the department’s stated belief that the car was specifically targeted suggests the attack was not random.

No information about funeral arrangements or a memorial service had been made public by Brianna J.‘s family as of this writing. Authorities said updates would be released as the inquiry progresses and once next of kin for the surviving victims have been formally notified.

This is a developing story, and details may change as the investigation continues.
