Their parents are Gary Downs (a former NFL running back who played for the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and Atlanta Falcons) and Tanya Shorter Downs. The siblings grew up in a competitive, faith-centered household in Georgia that emphasized hard work and sports.
Josh Downs
Josh Downs Josh Downs is Caleb’s older brother (born August 12, 2001). He is a professional wide receiver and punt returner for the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL.
Josh attended North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, before starring at the University of North Carolina (2020–2022), where he earned two First-team All-ACC honors. The Colts selected him in the third round (79th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.
As the older brother, Josh served as a role model and training partner for Caleb. The brothers have a competitive yet supportive relationship—they even attended rival high schools and faced each other on the field.
Josh has publicly praised Caleb as the best football player in the family, while Caleb has described Josh as both a motivator and occasional “bully” during their younger years.
The two have trained together, co-hosted a podcast (“Downs 2 Business”), and run youth football camps through their Trust Downs Foundation. They were set to face each other in the NFL (Cowboys vs. Colts).
Kameron Downs
Kameron Downs Kameron Downs is the oldest of the three siblings. She was a college soccer player at Kennesaw State University, where she appeared in 65 games over four seasons as a forward, recording five goals and three assists.
She graduated in 2021 and later pursued a path in medicine, attending Wake Forest medical school (and previously working as an ophthalmic assistant).
As the eldest sibling, Kameron has spoken candidly about watching Caleb’s rapid rise, initially wondering when he would become “average” like other kids, only to see him continue excelling.
She has provided family support throughout her brothers’ athletic journeys while focusing on her own academic and professional path outside of professional sports.
Josh, Kameron, and Caleb Downs grew up in a sports-oriented Georgia family with deep football roots (including their father Gary and uncle Dré Bly, a former NFL cornerback).
The siblings share a close bond built on competition, mutual encouragement, and giving back to the community. While Josh and Caleb followed football into the NFL, Kameron excelled in soccer before shifting to medicine, reflecting the family’s balance of athletics and education.
