Career

Abbey Adeyemi joined FC Liefering in July 2018, the Red Bull Salzburg reserve team. After joining, he made his professional debut for Liefering in August 2018, and just a month later, in September 2018, he scored his first goal. 

Adeyemi was promoted to the Red Bull Salzburg first team in January 2019. Subsequently, he debuted for Salzburg in February 2019 and scored his first goal for the club in March 2019.

Abbey Adeyemi wasted no time making a name for himself at Salzburg, impressing with his impressive goal-scoring record of 23 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2019-20 season. Furthermore, his contributions were crucial to Salzburg’s triumphs in the Austrian Bundesliga and the Austrian Cup. 

Continuing his remarkable form into the following season, Adeyemi further solidified his status as a critical player for Salzburg by netting an impressive 28 goals in 41 appearances. Once again, he played an instrumental part in securing his team’s Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup titles.

Abbey Adeyemi signed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund in May 2022. He has already scored six goals in 27 appearances since his debut in August 2022. 

Adeyemi has also demonstrated his potential at the young international level, representing Germany in the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 squads. Furthermore, he made his senior international debut for Germany in September 2021 as a replacement in a 6-0 win against Armenia.
