Early Life

On December 26, 1959, Abdullahi Audu Sule was born in the Akwanga-West Development Area, Nasarawa State.

In 1968, he began formal education at the Roman Catholic Mission (RMC) Primary School at Gudi Station. He next joined Government Technical College, Bukuru, in 1977 after graduating from Zang Secondary School in 1974.

In 1980, after finishing secondary school, he enrolled at Barkin Ladi’s Plateau State Polytechnic. Then, based on a scholarship, he left Nigeria to attend Indiana University in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he graduated with a master’s in industrial technology and a bachelor of science in mechanical technology.

Career

Sule returned to Nigeria in 1985 as a member of the Plateau Utilities Board’s youth corps. On October 1, 2018, he won the Nasarawa State All Progressive Congress governorship primary.

Engineer Abdullahi Sule was named Nasarawa’s new governor on March 10, 2019, following the state’s gubernatorial election on March 9, 2019. On May 29, 2019, he was sworn in as the governor of Nasarawa State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Nasarawa State, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, has been declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

On Monday, Prof. Ishaya Tanko, INEC’s State Collation Officer and Returning Officer, announced at the Nasarawa State Collation Center in Lafia.

According to the INEC returning officer, the APC candidate received 347,209 votes, defeating David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who received 283,016 votes.
