Kulsoom Butt was born on March 29, 1950, in Lahore to Dr. Mohammed Hafiz Butt and his wife. She grew up alongside two sisters and a brother in a notable Punjabi–Kashmiri family, her maternal grandfather being the famed wrestler “The Great Gama.”
