Manoj Tiwari, a celebrated politician and actor, was born on February 1, 1971, in Atarwalia, a small village in Kaimur, Bihar, India, to Chandradev Tiwari and Lalita Devi.

Raised in a middle-class family with five siblings, including his brother Pushkar Tiwari, he spent his childhood in Kabir Chaura, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

He completed his high school education at Shri Kamlakar Chaubey Adarsh Seva Vidyalaya Intermediate College, Varanasi, in 1987. A brilliant student and sports enthusiast, he captained the Banaras Hindu University cricket team to victory in the East Zone.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) from Banaras Hindu University in 1994. His early passion for music and acting shaped his career in Bhojpuri cinema. He is of Bhumihar descent and follows Hinduism.

Manoj Tiwari began his career as a Bhojpuri singer, performing at Varanasi’s Sheetala Ghat and Mahavir Temple for nearly a decade.

His acting debut in the 2004 Bhojpuri film Sasura Bada Paisawala was a massive hit, revitalizing the Bhojpuri film industry and establishing him as a superstar.

He starred in over 40 films, including Daroga Babu I Love You (2004), Bandhan Toote Na (2005), Ganga (2006), and Devra Bhail Deewana (2014). His soulful songs like “Jiya Ho Bihar Ke Lala” from Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and the Bhojpuri version of “Jabra Fan” for Fan (2016) gained widespread popularity.
