Thomas Ong Thian Chai (born February 1, 1969), addressed as Thomas Ong, is a talented Singaporean actor, television host, and businessman who films on an ad-hoc basis. He is best known for his roles in the films The Dragon Five as Zhao Tianbao and Waves of Courage as Zhao Wei.

He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1994 in a movie titled Dr. Justice and Love At Last. He has been nominated for several awards and emerged as the winner for most of the nominations.

In addition to his acting, Thomas Ong hosts numerous local television shows in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Thomas Ong Thian Chai was born in Singapore on January 31, 1963. Robert Ong, his father, was employed by the US Department of State in Washington, DC. Trinh Huat, his mother, was a well-known actress in Singapore. He studied at St. Joseph’s Institution and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Thomas Ong was born into a family of six children. He has four brothers and one sister, whom they refer to as the princess of the family. Given the size of his family, he has always been close to his siblings and values the importance of family. 

As the oldest child in his family, Thomas Ong often feels responsible for setting a good example for his younger siblings. He knows that his actions and words can have a big impact on them, so he always tries to be mindful of his behavior.
