Yogi Adityanath was born on June 5, 1972, in Panchur village, Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand), India. He was raised by his parents, Anand Singh Bisht (a forest ranger) and Savitri Devi, in a Garhwali Rajput family.

Elected to Lok Sabha from Gorakhpur in 1998 at age 26 (youngest MP then), he won five consecutive terms until 2017. As BJP leader, he focused on Hindutva, cow protection, and social issues.

Appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 19, 2017, he secured re-election in 2022, becoming the first to serve two full consecutive terms.
