Ange Postecoglou‘s coaching career commenced in 1996 at South Melbourne, where he achieved success by clinching two NSL championships in 1997–98 and 1998–99. Postecoglou became the Australian U-20 team’s head coach in 2000. For seven years, he led the squad to the FIFA U-20 World Cups in 2001 and 2005. In 2007, Postecoglou relocated to Greece, where he assumed the head coach role for Panachaiki. After spending a season with the team, he returned to Australia in 2009 to take on the head coach position for Brisbane Roar.

Under Ange Postecoglou‘s leadership, Brisbane Roar achieved remarkable success by clinching the A-League Premiership in 2011 and securing the Championship title in 2011–12. Moreover, his outstanding managerial skills earned him recognition as the A-League Manager of the Year in 2010–11.
