Many Nigerians have expressed outrage and disbelief on social media, questioning how such a brazen act could occur in what is considered one of the safer areas of the city.
Security analyst Freedom Onuoha said it is outrageous and unacceptable for this to happen in the cosmopolitan commercial core of Ikoyi. These guys are closer than you think, yet the security agencies claim not to be able to trace them.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the police are investigating the matter. However, he declined to provide further details, including the names of the abducted individuals and specifics of the abduction.
The kidnapping of Mohamed Fouani and his companions is a stark reminder of the growing security challenges faced by businesses and expatriates in Nigeria. It highlights the need for increased vigilance and improved security measures to protect individuals and companies operating in the country.
