Savannah Chrisley, the reality television personality, and Jason Galanis, a convicted securities fraudster whose federal prison sentence was commuted by President Trump, were married July 14 at the Cayman Islands Baptist Church, according to marriage records obtained by People.

The ceremony took place about three months before Ms. Chrisley told the public this week that she was engaged and expecting her first child, without mentioning that a wedding had already happened.

Ms. Chrisley, 29, shared the news Tuesday on Instagram and on her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, first identifying her partner only by an initial and then by his first name.

Mr. Galanis, 56, was identified later that day as a former business partner of Hunter Biden. The couple are 27 years apart in age. The marriage records surfaced two days later, and Ms. Chrisley had not immediately commented on them.

On her podcast, Ms. Chrisley described a romance that began with a congratulatory message. Jason Galanis reached out in June 2025, she said, to congratulate her on her campaign to win clemency for her parents, and the two began dating the next month after meeting through political circles.

He proposed in December in the Cayman Islands, she said, producing a ring from his backpack. She told listeners the wedding had been set for Jan. 9, 2027, and was pushed to May 2027 after she learned she was pregnant, news she described as a shock that followed earlier fertility planning.

In an Instagram post accompanying the announcement, she called Jason Galanis her protector and her safe place, writing that she had wondered whether she would ever feel secure enough to breathe again before she met him.

Hints of a wedding had circulated before the records appeared. Ms. Chrisley was seen wearing a diamond wedding band in photographs posted online by a jeweller and by professional photographers, and she joked on her podcast in May that she might not reveal her partner’s name until after she was married.

Her mother, Julie Chrisley, said on the show last August that she would not be surprised if Savannah ran off with an older man and announced it afterward, and Savannah replied that she pictured a small ceremony in Italy or the Cayman Islands.

Todd Chrisley, her father, did not deny the wedding rumours on a podcast hosted by Bunnie XO that was released Thursday. He said he had reservations about the age gap when the couple began dating.

Jason Galanis comes from a family with a long record in the courts. His father, John Galanis, and his brother, Derek Galanis, were both convicted of fraud tied to a securities conspiracy that involved Jason.

From 2012 to 2015, he was a business partner of Hunter Biden and Devon Archer. Prosecutors accused him of orchestrating a scheme to defraud the Wakpamni Lake Community Corporation, an arm of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, through bonds sold to investors under false pretenses, and he separately pleaded guilty to fraud involving a company called Gerova.

In September 2020, he was sentenced to 189 months in prison after earlier 2017 convictions were vacated. Investors lost tens of millions of dollars across the schemes.

President Trump commuted his sentence to time served on March 28, 2025, with no remaining fines, restitution or probation, three days after pardoning Mr. Archer, who was convicted in the same tribal bond case. A commutation, unlike a pardon, leaves the underlying conviction in place.

In 2024, Jason Galanis testified from prison to House Republicans investigating the Biden family, saying Hunter Biden‘s value to their ventures lay in his family name and his access to his father.

Hunter Biden has said under oath that he met Mr. Galanis only briefly, and he was never charged in the case. House Democrats called Mr. Galanis a con man after the clemency, while a Trump administration official told Fox News he was a fall guy for Mr. Biden and Mr. Archer. He had served about eight years and eight months.

Ms. Chrisley‘s path to Mr. Galanis ran through her parents’ legal troubles. Todd and Julie Chrisley, the stars of the long-running USA Network series Chrisley Knows Best, were convicted in 2022 of bank fraud and tax evasion and received a combined 19 years in prison.

President Trump pardoned them on May 27, 2025, and they were released the next day, two months after Mr. Galanis walked free. Mr. Galanis was held for a time in 2023 at the federal prison camp in Pensacola, Fla., where Todd Chrisley also served, though it is unclear whether the two men spoke there.

With her parents imprisoned, Ms. Chrisley took charge of her younger brother, Grayson Chrisley, and Chloe Chrisley, her niece, and lobbied in Washington for their release.

The engagement drew a sharp warning from Derek Galanis, who has not spoken to his brother since 2016 and wrote a book about the family, Greed and Fear: The Galanis Crime Family.

He told Page Six that the relationship was his brother’s “biggest con yet,” insisted that Jason had not changed, and cautioned that Ms. Chrisley faced a difficult road.

He also pointed out that Jason is one year younger than Todd Chrisley and that Mr. Trump had granted clemency to both men. Mr. Galanis‘s former wife, Monet Berger, has described herself as a victim of one of his schemes. He was once profiled in the business press as an investor in adult entertainment.

Ms. Chrisley has pushed back on the criticism, using an Instagram Story to defend her unborn child as innocent of the controversy surrounding Mr. Galanis.

Page Six reported that she bought a Nashville-area house in February for $2.225 million and that Mr. Galanis has since moved in, a property that now appears to be the couple’s marital home. Photographs of the pair vacationing in the Cayman Islands and out in Nashville had circulated earlier.

The relationship follows several well-publicized romances. Ms. Chrisley was engaged to the hockey player Nic Kerdiles from 2018 until 2020, and Mr. Kerdiles has since died. She later dated Robert Shiver, who was going through a divorce at the time, before the two split.

Ms. Chrisley has said her wedding is now planned for May 2027, about ten months after the date on the Cayman marriage records.
