Street dealers in the Aboki market quoted the US dollar between roughly ₦1,364 and ₦1,375 when buying cash from customers and between ₦1,378 and ₦1,390 when selling on Friday, 23 October 2026, across major centres including Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt.

That means a person handing over $100 would receive about ₦136,400–₦137,500, while someone needing the same amount of dollars would pay close to ₦137,800–₦139,000. The Central Bank of Nigeria’s official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate remained near ₦1,334 to ₦1,344 per dollar, leaving a street premium of about ₦40 to ₦55, or roughly 3–4 percent.

Early-morning quotes largely held the previous session’s band, with no sharp swing in either direction, and demand from importers, travellers and students stayed orderly rather than frantic. External reserves have recently been reported near $54–55 billion, with oil receipts continuing to support official liquidity.

Quotes still differed slightly by location, volume and time of day, and operators noted that the informal rate can move before the close of business. The gap between the official window and the parallel market has remained comparatively narrow by recent historical standards, yet cash transactions outside the banking system continue to serve as the practical benchmark for many users who cannot obtain dollars at the CBN rate.

Anyone planning to change money was advised to confirm the live figure with a trusted bureau or dealer, because parallel-market prices are not fixed and can shift on local supply and remittance inflows.
