Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 25th September 2026

The Nigerian naira traded at a black-market, or Aboki, rate of about ₦1,375 to buy a dollar and ₦1,390 to sell a dollar on Friday, 25 September 2026, according to parallel-market trackers that compile quotes from dealers in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt.

That means a traveller or trader handing over cash dollars would receive roughly ₦137,500 for $100, while someone needing dollars would pay about ₦139,000 for the same amount.

The official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate published by the Central Bank of Nigeria remained far lower, around ₦1,328.50 per dollar, leaving a premium of roughly ₦47 to ₦62 depending on the exact street quote. Dealers said demand stayed firm from importers, students and travellers even as Nigeria’s external reserves hovered above $54 billion and oil receipts continued to support official liquidity.

Rates can still differ by location, volume and the time of day, so the figures quoted on Friday morning were not identical everywhere. For $1,000 the informal market would cost close to ₦1.39 million to buy dollars and yield about ₦1.375 million if dollars were sold.

The gap between the official window and the Aboki market has narrowed compared with the wide spreads of previous years, yet cash transactions outside the banking system remain the reference point for many everyday users who cannot access dollars at the CBN rate.

Market watchers noted that the naira’s street value has been relatively steady in recent sessions, with only small day-to-day shifts rather than sharp swings. Anyone planning to change money is still advised to confirm the live quote with a trusted bureau or dealer, because the informal rate can move before the close of business.
