Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 26th September 2026
The parallel market naira-to-dollar rate held near ₦1,390 to the dollar on Saturday, 26 September 2026, as street traders and bureau de change operators in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt quoted that figure for buyers seeking hard currency.
Dealers were paying about ₦1,375 to ₦1,378 for each dollar sold to them, leaving a modest spread of roughly ₦12 to ₦15. The official Central Bank of Nigeria window remained far lower, around ₦1,328.50 to ₦1,329 per dollar, so the unofficial premium stayed close to 4.4 percent.

Traders said demand was steady rather than frantic, with weekend travellers, importers topping up small allocations and households converting remittances accounting for most of the activity. Liquidity in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market has improved in recent sessions after stronger oil receipts and a rise in external reserves, which has helped keep the gap between the two markets from widening. Still, many businesses and individuals continue to rely on the informal channel because official dollars remain rationed and bank queues can be long.
A week earlier the parallel rate had hovered between ₦1,382 and ₦1,387. Saturday’s quotes therefore marked only a small move, and some trackers recorded little change from Friday. The pound and euro also traded at elevated unofficial levels, with sterling near ₦1,880 and the euro near ₦1,590, but the dollar remained the most watched pair.
Market operators cautioned that rates can shift quickly if oil prices slip or if demand for travel and school fees picks up later in the month. For now the naira is holding its ground in the streets even as the official window stays relatively calm.
Anyone exchanging money is advised to confirm the latest quote with a trusted dealer, because prices vary slightly by location and time of day. The figures circulating on Saturday morning reflected the most widely reported Aboki and open-market rates across the main commercial cities.
