Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 6th August 2026
The Nigerian naira traded at approximately ₦1,410 to buy and ₦1,425 to sell against the United States dollar in the parallel market, popularly referred to as the Aboki or black market, on Thursday, 6th August 2026.
Currency dealers across major commercial centers including Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt quoted these rates amid steady demand for the greenback from importers, travelers and individuals settling overseas obligations such as school fees and medical expenses.

According to market trackers and Bureau de Change operators, the selling rate held near ₦1,425 per dollar while the buying rate hovered around ₦1,410 to ₦1,420, reflecting a modest premium over the official window. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria indicated that the naira exchanged at about ₦1,362.55 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, leaving a gap of roughly ₦62 between the official rate and the parallel market selling price.
Traders noted relatively stable activity in the informal segment, supported by diaspora remittances and limited official liquidity, even as overall foreign exchange conditions remained constrained by persistent import demand.
The dual-market structure continues to shape transactions for many businesses and households that cannot readily access dollars through formal banking channels. Market participants expect rates to remain sensitive to supply inflows and policy signals in the days ahead.
