Traders in major centers including Lagos, Abuja and other commercial hubs reported active dealings driven by demand from importers, travelers and individuals seeking foreign currency for personal or business needs outside formal banking channels.

The relatively narrow spread between the official window and the street market continues to reflect improved convergence compared with the much wider gaps seen in earlier periods, amid ongoing efforts to enhance liquidity and transparency in the foreign exchange system.

Dollar supply from exporters and other autonomous sources has supported stability in the formal market, while retail pressure in the parallel segment has kept the Aboki rate elevated. Market participants are monitoring external reserves, oil receipts and portfolio inflows as factors that could influence further movements in the naira in coming sessions.

Rates in the informal market can vary slightly by location and transaction size, and the Central Bank continues to direct those requiring foreign exchange to authorized channels.
