The Nigerian naira traded in a moderately wider band on the informal Aboki market on Saturday, 7 November 2026, as street dealers in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt quoted the United States dollar at about ₦1,410 to ₦1,417 when buying cash from customers and ₦1,419 to ₦1,430 when selling.

A person handing over $100 therefore received roughly ₦141,000 to ₦141,700, while anyone seeking the same amount of hard currency paid close to ₦141,900 to ₦143,000.

The official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rate published by the Central Bank of Nigeria stood near ₦1,347 to ₦1,349 per dollar, leaving a street premium of roughly ₦60 to ₦80, or about 5 to 6 percent.

Demand from importers, students and travellers remained orderly rather than intense, supported by external reserves reported above $55 billion and steady oil receipts that have helped sustain official liquidity. Quotes still differed slightly by location, volume and the time of day, and operators noted that the informal rate can shift before the close of business.

The gap between the official window and the parallel market has stayed comparatively contained by recent historical standards, yet cash transactions outside the banking system continue to serve as the practical benchmark for many users who cannot obtain dollars at the CBN rate.

Anyone planning an exchange was advised to confirm the live quote with a trusted bureau or dealer, because parallel-market prices are not uniform and can move on local supply and remittance inflows.
