Up-and-coming singer Oluwabamishe Lukman Abioro, popularly known as Young Duu, has taken to social media to air grievances regarding the royalties he received for his collaboration with Carter Efe on the hit track “Onyimo.”

In a recent post, Young Duu called out his colleague Carter Efe, alleging that he was only given a fraction of the profits generated by the song. Despite their agreement for him to receive 30% of the earnings, Young Duu expressed shock and disappointment when he received a mere N500,000.

Adding fuel to the fire, Young Duu accused Carter Efe of creating a Twitter account in his name and using it to engage in online disputes, including a spat with Afrobeats star Davido during his clash with Buju fka BNXN.

In a further twist, Young Duu shared a screenshot of a derogatory message allegedly sent to him by Carter Efe‘s partner, Ella, criticizing him for his alleged lack of direction in life.

The outcry from Young Duu has prompted reactions from fans and industry insiders alike. Many sympathize with his plight, condemning what they perceive as exploitation and unfair treatment. Some also expressed concern for Young Duu‘s well-being and urged him to find a resolution to the dispute.

While the controversy surrounding “Onyimo” continues to unfold, Young Duu‘s public outcry sheds light on the challenges faced by emerging artists in navigating the complexities of the music industry.
