She Took the Rolls-Royce, the Mansion & $560K! Simon Guobadia Exposes Porsha Williams
Nigerian-American businessman Simon Guobadia has opened up about the breakdown of his 15-month marriage to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, expressing regret and accusing her of financial manipulation.
Their high-profile split, finalized in June 2025, has left Guobadia legally obligated to pay Williams $40,000 per month in alimony for 14 months—a total of $560,000—along with covering all costs for their $7 million Atlanta mansion, where Williams continues to reside.

The divorce has ignited intense public debate, particularly across social media and reality television circles. While Guobadia paints a picture of betrayal and exploitation, Williams maintains the marriage unraveled due to legal complications and irreconcilable differences.
At 61, Simon Guobadia—founder of Simcol Petroleum and known for his wealth, philanthropic ventures, and luxurious lifestyle—first met Porsha Williams, 44, in April 2021 while still married to fellow RHOA cast member Falynn Guobadia.
He claims Williams initially contacted him via Instagram, offering prayers during his divorce proceedings with Falynn, finalized just three months later. “I was in a vulnerable state,” he admitted in a June 25, 2025, interview with Page Six. “To get engaged in 30 days—who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind.”
Their whirlwind romance led to back-to-back weddings in November 2022: a traditional Nigerian ceremony attended by 250 guests, followed by an extravagant American celebration with 350 guests in Atlanta. At the time, Williams called it “a dream come true,” widely showcasing their relationship on social media.
But the fairytale was short-lived. In February 2024, Williams filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and raising concerns about Guobadia’s immigration status and finances. The divorce decree, finalized on June 11, 2025, upheld their prenuptial agreement—heavily tilted in Williams’ favor.
Court records indicate she was awarded $40,000 in monthly alimony for 14 months, retained residence rights in their Atlanta mansion for up to three years (with all expenses covered by Guobadia), and full ownership of a Rolls-Royce he gifted her.
Additionally, Guobadia is responsible for her legal fees. Should she opt to keep the home after 2027, she must refinance it and pay Guobadia 50% of the equity, as he purchased the property before their marriage.
Guobadia, who previously honored prenups in earlier marriages, now vows to challenge this agreement. “This one, I’m fighting,” he stated. “Even if I have to take it to the Supreme Court.” He insists he was “targeted from day one,” convinced the relationship was orchestrated to exploit his wealth.
His disillusionment deepened when Williams filed for divorce without warning. “I was blindsided,” he said, recalling attempts to contact her and her family, all of which were ignored. He eventually sent a sharply worded message, describing their marriage as a “$5 million rehab project.” “She never communicated her issues. In a marriage, you talk things through,” he added.
In Guobadia’s view, Williams capitalized on his post-divorce vulnerability. The rapid engagement, he claims, was a red flag he ignored. “I now realize how clouded my judgment was.”
Williams, however, has a different perspective. Speaking to PEOPLE in a June 23, 2025, cover story, she firmly denied allegations that money drove her marriage. “I’ve always been a businesswoman,” she said. “I had businesses before I married my first husband, and I rebuilt them after that divorce. I make my own coins.” She also dismissed claims of opportunism. “Our love was real. We were both excited to share our relationship with RHOA fans.”
According to Williams, it was Guobadia’s complicated immigration issues that ultimately strained their union. She said she even hired an immigration lawyer in January 2024 to help resolve his status, but things escalated during a Valentine’s Day confrontation. A week later, she filed for divorce, claiming the relationship had become unsustainable. Williams also alleged that Guobadia stopped fulfilling financial obligations, forcing her to cover the mortgage and even his child support payments during his time in ICE custody.
Guobadia’s legal troubles culminated in his deportation to Nigeria in June 2025, after spending four months in ICE detention. He now resides there and insists that Williams filed for divorce conveniently during his immigration crisis, reinforcing his belief that he was used for financial gain. “It was all too timed, too strategic,” he said in multiple interviews. “I think I was targeted.”
The divorce also strained their blended family. Guobadia, a father of five from previous relationships, admitted to keeping an emotional distance from Williams’ daughter, Pilar “PJ” Jhena McKinley, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley. “I avoid bonding with children from my partner’s past relationships. It gets messy,” he said. He ignored a message from Williams saying PJ missed him, stating, “I’m done. I’m not going back.”
Williams, on the other hand, said the divorce was hard on her six-year-old daughter, calling it “a difficult time” in the PEOPLE interview.
Online reactions have been divisive. While some users applauded Williams for “securing the bag,” others criticized her for allegedly manipulating Guobadia. “She already had money,” one user posted on social media. “This narrative of her being a gold digger is tired.” Another commented, “Simon was just a money machine to her.” The drama even drew comparisons from public figures like Israel DMW, an aide to singer Davido, who lamented, “Na church girl and worker me first marry ooh.”
Complicating Guobadia’s legal challenge is his deportation. Though he wishes to appeal the divorce settlement, his current status outside the U.S. may hinder those efforts. He insists the immigration issues were never discussed between him and Williams during the marriage, a claim she disputes, stating she only discovered alarming details in early 2024.
Williams returned to RHOA for season 16 but has stayed quiet about the divorce, due to a cease-and-desist from Guobadia prohibiting public discussion. Meanwhile, Guobadia continues to speak out, even selling “FREE SIMON” T-shirts following his deportation.
