Aboki Naira to Dollar Black Market Exchange Rate Today, 12th September 2026
The unofficial naira-to-dollar market opened Saturday, 12 September 2026, with street dealers across Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt quoting a sell rate of ₦1,410 to the dollar and a buy rate of ₦1,385, according to parallel-market trackers that compile Aboki quotations.
That means a buyer needing cash dollars would typically pay about ₦141,000 for $100, while someone converting dollars into naira would receive roughly ₦138,500 for the same amount. The official Central Bank of Nigeria window, by contrast, showed the naira around ₦1,326 to ₦1,329 per dollar on the most recent trading data, leaving a premium of roughly 5 to 6 percent on the street.

Dealers said demand for the greenback remained firm as importers, travellers and households sought hard currency ahead of the weekend, even as the official market had shown modest naira strength in recent sessions after reported dollar injections.
Rates still vary by location, transaction size and the time of day; larger sums sometimes attract a slightly tighter spread, while smaller cash deals can cost more. Bureau de change operators and informal traders continue to set their own margins, so the figures published by aggregators should be treated as a guide rather than a fixed price.
Over the past month, the parallel sell rate has swung between about ₦1,355 and ₦1,505, with an average near ₦1,470, underscoring how quickly street prices can move when liquidity or sentiment shifts.
Market watchers will be looking at oil receipts, CBN interventions and seasonal demand to see whether the current gap between official and unofficial rates narrows or widens in the days ahead. Anyone exchanging money is advised to confirm the live quote with a trusted dealer before completing a transaction, as the black-market rate can change within hours.
