Alexander Aris, a staunch supporter of human rights, was born on April 12, 1973, within the gates of London’s Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. His parents, Aung San Suu Kyi and Michael Aris were responsible for his upbringing and were important in establishing his ideals and ideas.

In 1991, Aung San Suu Kyi, the renowned mother of Alexander Aris and Kim Aris, was honored with the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless efforts in Burma. Despite their young ages of 18 and 14, respectively, Alexander and Kim graciously accepted the esteemed award on behalf of their mother. The substantial prize money of 1.3 million USD was wisely utilized to establish a trust dedicated to improving healthcare and education opportunities for the citizens of Burma.
