Early Life and Education
Aitor González Luna was born on September 18, 1981, in Bergara, a town in Gipuzkoa in Spain’s Basque Country, and was raised by Mr. and Mrs. González, a family of Andalusian origin that had settled in the Basque region.
He is the older brother of actor Yon González, and the brothers eventually developed parallel careers in Spanish television and film.
Public interviews indicate that their parents were highly supportive of both sons pursuing entertainment careers.
Luna developed an interest in acting during his youth. His brother Yon later recalled that Aitor took the profession seriously from an early age and served as an important example for him.
Aitor began formal acting studies in Bilbao, eventually training at Ánima Eskola, where he studied under theatre professionals Marina Shimanskaya and Algis Arlauskas.
His training began around 2000, providing him a foundation in stage performance and screen acting.
Before establishing himself as an actor, Luna also explored modelling. His mother encouraged both sons to consider modelling opportunities, although Aitor initially concentrated more heavily on acting.
His brother Yon eventually entered modelling and acting partly after observing Aitor’s professional path. The two brothers later appeared together in the film Matar el tiempo.
Luna’s education at Ánima Eskola was particularly important to his development. The Bilbao acting school has identified him among its notable alumni, and Luna himself has credited his teachers for helping him develop his acting technique.
His training covered practical performance work rather than a conventional university degree.
His family has remained important to his personal life. In interviews discussing his career, Luna and Yon have spoken warmly about their parents’ reaction to their professional achievements.
The brothers also describe their relationship as supportive, and Yon has referred to Aitor as an important personal reference in his life.
Career
Aitor Luna began his professional screen career in the Basque television series Goenkale, appearing in more than 100 episodes during the 2004–2005 period.
His work in Basque television provided his first sustained acting experience before he moved into larger Spanish-language productions.
His major breakthrough came in 2005, when he joined Los hombres de Paco as Gonzalo Montoya.
He remained associated with the series for approximately four years, gaining substantial recognition among Spanish television audiences.
The role established him as a regular television actor and opened opportunities in larger national productions.
From 2020 onward, Luna continued working in streaming television, including the Netflix series Valeria, where he played Sergio. His later screen work has included projects such as Lamento and newer Spanish productions.
Filmography databases currently list Pura sangre among his future or recent projects, indicating that his acting career remains active.
