Julius Weckauf was born on December 27, 2007, in Jüchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. His parents, Bernd Weckauf and Simone Weckauf, operate a stationery shop in their hometown.

The 2018 film became his breakthrough, earning him several honours, including the Romy for Best Newcomer, the New Faces Award Special Jury Prize, the Golden Space Needle for Best Actor at the Seattle International Film Festival, and the Children’s Media Award Der weiße Elefant.
He continued his screen career in Lindenberg! Mach dein Ding!, Granny Nanny, Catweazle, and The Path.
In 2023, he played Justus Jonas, one of the three young detectives in The Three Investigators – Legacy of the Dragon.
He reprised the character in The Three Investigators and the Carpathian Dog and The Three Investigators – Isle of Death. He also supplied the German voice of Yoyo in Mission Santa: Yoyo to the Rescue.
