Early Life and Education

Monty Oum first saw the light of day on June 22, 1981, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Mony Oum and Vanna Oum.

He was the youngest of seven children, with four older brothers—Woody, Sey, Chivy, and Neath—and two older sisters, Thea and Theary.

As a teenager, he was a student at New Urban Arts, a community art studio for high school students in Providence, where he developed his artistic skills.
